Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim) summoned ICW Coordinator, Adnan Topan Husodo, and ICW Coordinator of Law and Judicial Monitoring, Emerson Yuntho, for questioning related to defamation charges filed by Romli Atmasasmita. Romli asserted that news coverage in Kompas, Tempo, and the Jakarta Post published statements that cornered him as a candidate for KPK selection committee.

The Attorney General Office is beginning to respond to pretrial appeals filed by suspects of corruption. The first appeal was filed by Handoko Lie, a suspect in the case involving PT KAI land transfer in Medan. The second appeal was filed by Regent of Sarmi in Papua, Mesak Manimbor, who was charged with embezzlement of the Sarmi budget.

Chairperson of KPK Selection Committee (Pansel) Destry Damayanti, dismissed public concerns about candidates of KPK leaders that were registering with ulterior motives, with no serious intentions of joining KPK. Deputy Chairman of Jakarta City Council (DPRD), Abraham Lunggana alias Haji Lulung, submitted files that he claimed to be related to three cases of corruption in the capital administration. Lulung arrived at Bareskrim claiming to be a whistleblower.

Former Minister of State Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Dahlan Iskan, was again summoned to Bareskrim as a witness in the case about a fictitious paddy field project in Ketapang, West Kalimantan. This project is a joint program between various state-owned companies, including Pertamina, PGN, Pelindo, Hutama Karya, Askes and BRI. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding was allegedly misappropriated with this fictitious project.

The Police Criminal Investigation Unit is currently investigating nine corruption cases worth trillions of rupiah in state losses. 500 investigators had been assigned to work on these cases. These investigators will also handle 23 other cases with state losses amounting to hundreds of billions and 35 cases worth tens of billions.
