Candidate for leader of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Sri Harijati, was alleged in a public report to have reduced case handling budget by 50% when she was in charge of the Attorney General Office of Lampung (Kejati Lampung), in 2008. Harijati appeared to be prepared for the question and clarified the allegation. She produced a letter of clarification from the national AGO (Kejagung) stating she never cut any case budget.

Another candidate for KPK leader, Saut Situmorang, declared that he will forgo past cases of corruption. He made the statement during his interview session with the Selection Committee for KPK Leadership (Pansel KPK).

KPK affirmed that the will continue to crackdown on any government officials who are allegedly involved in corrupting state budgets. President Joko Widodo's instruction regarding financial discretion for heads of regions is not the domain of the anti-graft body.

The clerk who is also secretary to the Medan Administrative Court (PTUN Medan), Syamsir Yusfan, admitted to have received US$ 2,000 from lawyer OC Kaligis for introducing Kaligis with Chief of Court Tripeni Irianto Putro. At the time, Kaligis was filing a case at PTUN Medan about the naming of suspects of social aid fund manipulation at North Sumatera Provincial Administration.

Public prosecutor from KPK, Fitroh Cahyanto, charged the defendant Waryono Karno with 9 years of prison sentence minus confinement time, and a fine of Rp 200m or an additional 6 months imprisonment, as well as Rp 150m in restitution. Waryono Karyo was accused of corruption in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
