Judge granted Makassar Mayor’s pretrial motion

The South Jakarta District Court has granted the pre-trial motion of former Makassar mayor Ilham Arief Sirajuddin, saying the KPK failed to prove it had two sufficient pieces of evidence to charge Ilham as a corruption suspect in a case estimated to have caused Rp 38.1 billion in state losses.

KPK probes free pilgrimage packages for journalists

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is still investigating free pilgrimage packages for journalists provided by the Religious Affairs Ministry in 2012-2013. The journalists receiving the free pilgrimage packages had been summoned as witnesses in the graft case of former religious affairs minister Suryadharma Ali.
